You've Got 30 Days

Changed your mind? You've got 30 days from delivery to request a return. Take your time (but not too much time!).

Returns Come With a Flat Fee

We charge a $150 flat return fee, which covers the return shipping label we'll send your way — easy peasy.

Restock Fee? Yep.

All returns have a restocking fee based on item condition:

Unused & Unopened: 15% restocking fee
Opened, Used, or Assembled: 20% restocking fee

Damaged & Defective Items

Inspection upon delivery

Please inspect all parts of your order carefully before assembly. If any damage or defect is noticed, do not open the hardware bag or begin assembly.

Reporting damage

All damage or defects must be reported within 7 days of delivery by emailing us at contact@betterwoodhome.com. Please include:

  • A detailed description of the issue
  • Clear photos showing the damage, the original box, and all packaging materials

Important notes

  • Assembled items are the buyer's responsibility and are not eligible for return or replacement.
  • Damaged or defective items must be securely packaged and returned in their original box and packaging.

Natural Characteristics of Wood

Our furniture is made from real wood that is reclaimed and upcycled — variations and imperfections are part of what makes each piece unique. As such, the following natural characteristics are not considered defects and are not eligible for return or replacement:

Wood grain & finish

  • Unique character and hairline grains is naturally and expected in reclaimed and upcycled wood furniture.
  • Variations in tone, grain direction, and finish is normal between pieces, making each piece one of a kind.
  • Distinctive textures, knots, and grain patterns are part of the wood's natural beauty.

Environmental effects

  • Seasonal Wood movement and shifts may occur over time due to temperature and humidity changes.
  • Darken Wood Tone is normal and expected as part of the aging process.
  • Harsh Sunlight may cause discoloration or fading — rotate objects placed on furniture regularly.
  • Heat exposure can damage finishes — avoid placing items near fireplaces, radiators, or heating vents.

Sizing

  • Slight dimensional differences may occur due to wood's natural movement and hand finished production tolerances.

— The Promise —

Better Wood & Home — Limited Warranty

Better Wood & Home ("the Manufacturer") warrants its furniture products to the original retail purchaser ("Purchaser") against defects in materials and workmanship under normal residential use for a period of NINETY (90) DAYS from the date of delivery ("Warranty Period"). This warranty is non-transferable and applies only to products purchased through authorized retailers.
Covered Defects

This warranty is expressly limited to defects in materials and workmanship that impair the intended use of the product, including:

  • Structural failure of solid wood components under normal household use
  • Manufacturing defects in finish present at the time of delivery
  • Hardware failure (drawer slides, hinges, fasteners) under normal household use
Exclusions

This warranty does NOT cover, and the Manufacturer shall have no liability for:

  • Normal wear and tear, including but not limited to minor scratches, dents, scuffs, and surface marks from everyday use
  • Natural variations in wood grain, color, texture, and finish, which are inherent characteristics of hand-finished solid wood furniture and are not defects
  • Minor finishing imperfections inherent to hand-finished construction
  • Color, tone, or finish changes resulting from exposure to sunlight, heat, humidity, or atmospheric conditions
  • Damage resulting from improper assembly, disassembly, modification, or repair by any party
  • Damage resulting from misuse, abuse, accidents, negligence, intentional damage, or commercial use
  • Damage from spills, moisture, extreme temperatures, harsh cleaning products, or unapproved cleaning agents
  • Damage occurring during customer-arranged transportation, relocation, or storage after delivery
  • Products used outdoors or in environments outside normal residential conditions
  • Any product altered, modified, or refinished by any party other than the Manufacturer
Missing or Damaged Parts on Delivery

Claims for missing parts or shipping-related damage must be submitted within THIRTY (30) DAYS of delivery. Claims submitted after this period will not be honored.

Claim Procedure

To submit a warranty claim, Purchaser must contact the Manufacturer at contact@betterwoodhome.com within the Warranty Period and provide:

  • Order number and proof of purchase from an authorized retailer
  • Written description of the defect
  • Photographs AND video clearly documenting the defect and the affected area
  • Any additional documentation reasonably requested by the Manufacturer

The Manufacturer reserves the right to inspect the product, request its return to a designated facility at the Purchaser's expense, or request additional evidence before validating the claim.

Remedy

If the Manufacturer determines, in its sole discretion, that a valid warranty claim exists, the Manufacturer's obligation under this warranty is expressly limited to one of the following, at the Manufacturer's election: (a) replacement of the defective component or product with a comparable item, subject to availability of stock, or (b) refund of the original purchase price. Assembly labor, freight, and installation costs are excluded.

Limitation of Liability

THIS WARRANTY IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, EXCEPT AS REQUIRED BY APPLICABLE LAW. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE MANUFACTURER BE LIABLE FOR ANY INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, INDIRECT, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE PRODUCT, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation may not apply. This warranty gives the Purchaser specific legal rights, and the Purchaser may also have other rights that vary by jurisdiction.

This warranty is valid only in the United States.
